With 65 years of expertise supporting students with language, learning, neurological, and social-emotional needs, you will play a vital role in empowering students to build physical strength, independence, and joy through active learning.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver high-quality individual and group APE instruction using evidence-based practices.
- Assess motor skills and create personalized fitness plans that support IEP goals.
- Track progress through data collection and reporting, contributing to IEP development and meetings.
- Collaborate with families, related service providers, instructional staff, and leadership to support student success.
- Guide, train, and support paraprofessionals, interns, and volunteers in APE environments.
- Maintain equipment and materials while upholding fiscal responsibility.
- Promote a safe, positive, and engaging environment for students of varying abilities.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 1 year of experience in APE or a related educational setting.
- Valid California APE credential - must have one of the following:
- APE Added Authorization
- APE Specialist Credential
- APE Emphasis Credential
- Valid Driver License.
- Proficiency with technology and commonly used IEP software.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to support crisis prevention and response as trained.
