Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) system oversight
- Lead and motivate team members through effective training, employee orientation, and ongoing development initiatives
- Supervise sales floor activities such as merchandising, stocking, inventory management, and pricing strategies to maximize sales opportunities
- Oversee customer service standards by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a welcoming shopping environment
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and selecting qualified personnel with strong communication skills and multilingual or bilingual abilities when applicable
- Implement marketing initiatives and promotional displays to boost sales and enhance store visibility
- Enforce store policies on cash handling, cashiering procedures, and safety protocols while maintaining organizational skills for inventory control and stock management
- Collaborate with the management team to develop sales strategies, monitor retail math metrics, and achieve sales management objectives
- Ensure compliance with all store policies related to wireless sales (if applicable), grocery or specialty product categories, and overall store management standards
Experience
- Proven supervisory or assistant manager experience within retail environments
- Strong background in retail sales, management, or merchandising with demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Experience with inventory management systems, POS technology, and cash handling procedures
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual English and Spanish abilities are required for serving diverse customer bases
- Skilled in recruiting, training & development of staff, as well as conducting interviews effectively
- Familiarity with retail math concepts such as pricing strategies and sales analysis
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail in bookkeeping and administrative tasks
- Knowledge of budgeting processes and payroll administration is desirable
- Prior experience working in grocery stores or specialty retail sectors is advantageous but not required
