What you will enjoy doing*
- In this role, you will be a key member of the Electronics Gases research and development team at the Linde Technology Center (LTC) in Tonawanda, NY
- You will engage and collaborate with Linde’s regional businesses, global customers, OEMs, and suppliers to develop and commercialize new materials, purification technologies, delivery systems, and packaging solutions for their use in the Electronics specialty gases and advanced materials market
- Lead New Product Development – drive projects for new product development from concept to successful commercialization.
- Experimental Design & Execution - design & setup experimental apparatus; plan, run, and/or execute experiments; conduct data analysis, and create efficient presentations for communicating technical results.
- Technical Expertise – become an internal technical expert in the field of relevant semiconductor materials.
- Stakeholder Alignment – ensure constructive alignment with development partners, commercial team, and customers throughout all stages of technology development.
- Collaborative Innovation – actively participate in internal and external technical collaborations to identify opportunities for new products and/or development programs.
- IP Development – prepare invention disclosures and contribute to the development of Linde intellectual property portfolio.
- Education - Ph.D. in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field is required
- Experience –10 years of proven track record of driving new product development and commercialization of semiconductor materials –5 years of experience with processes related to thin film deposition and characterization
- Technical Expertise/Skills –Hands-on chemical synthesis and purification of semiconductor materials –Packaging and delivery of high purity materials used in thin film deposition –Material analysis (XRD, TGA, FTIR, NMR, GC-MS, MS, etc.) and functional characterization of (thermal decomposition, flow rate, compatibility, reactivity, etc.) –Fundamental knowledge of physics and chemistry of interfacial phenomena
- Other Professional Skills –Work Ethic - ability to work independently and to be flexible in fast-pacing R&D environment with changing priorities –Communications - efficient verbal and written (email, technical documentation, presentation) communication skills –Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborative teamwork
