Role Overview:
The Operations Excellence group - Development & Support team (ODS) has an opening for a subject matter expert to support water treatment operations across the Linde industrial gas infrastructure in the US.
The main areas of responsibility include:
Water treatment program selection and optimization.
Monitoring water treatment KPIs.
Identification of water productivity opportunities.
Design and implementation of small improvement projects (<$2 MM Capex).
Support Engineering on new plant water treatment system.
- Utilize water process knowledge, data analysis tools and modeling skills to identify performance improvement opportunities and troubleshoot problems in operating Industrial gas plants.
- Identify and correct reliability risks related to water treatment deficiencies.
- Monitor water treatment KPIs and correcting performance shortfalls to maintain mechanical integrity of fixed assets.
- Identify and justify improvement projects, implement projects, and validate project savings.
- Support new project opportunities including steam quality requirements, steam system design, incoming and make-up water quality, proposed treatment programs and controls / automation.
- Monitor, cleanse and perform statistical analysis on large sets of water treatment data.
Requirements:
- BS or higher in Chemical Engineering
- 10 years in Utilities, Water treatment, Wastewater plants or similar operations support
- Knowledge of HyCO and ASU water treatment program requirements, typical challenges encountered and solutions.
- Knowledge of water pretreatment and waste-water unit operations, waste heat and direct fired boilers, cooling tower and closed loop water treatment systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work with plant operations staff to support monitoring and troubleshooting cooling tower, boiler, closed loop and other water treatment systems.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills able to work as individual contributor as well as part of the multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or participate in root cause analysis methodology.
- Ability to effectively communicate across multiple departments within Linde Plc. such as operations, engineering, business development and R&D.
Domestic travel is required (< 50%)
