What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER position at LINDAR?
Responsibilities:
- Design or redesign plastic thermoform and/or rotomold parts based on customer input/feedback
- Assist in developing product design solutions by providing input, ideas, and options, from conception through build and manufacture
- Using independent judgment, convert customer’s preliminary product design ideas into working 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings along with supporting documentation
- Communicates timelines internally and externally
- Meet with internal and external customers to document project requirements and progress.
- Responds and coordinates to sales and quality requests for new product drawings
- Responsible for the efficient and accurate production of CAD drawings/prints for management, external customers, and tooling vendors
- Manages all aspects of the internal quality control process to ensure customer satisfaction and ISO compliance within part design
- Evaluates the feasibility of design ideas
- Design and develop physical prototype parts from CAD geometry (in-house training provided)
- Other responsibilities as the business requires
Requirements:
- S. or A.A.S. degree in Computer Aided Mechanical Design or related field or equivalent experience
- 3 - 5 years experience in CAD design, preferably SolidWorks
- 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
