Position Summary:
Responsible for the efficient and accurate performance of all machining related tasks to ensure that quality tools reach our internal and external customers in a timely manner.
Position description
Essential responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
· Responsible for building projects from start to finish. Includes understanding the CAD geo, selecting material, sawing and squaring material, machining the part to the CAD geo, and inspecting the final product in relation to the CAD geo, and assembly of all applicable tooling.
· Communicates with management and internal customers concerning any design or tolerance issues on all tooling projects.
· Makes recommendations in the design process.
· Performs all machinist functions as assigned to ensure customer satisfaction. Includes CAM programing, CNC set-up and operation, manual machining, etc.
· Manages all aspects of the internal quality control process to ensure customer satisfaction.
· Operates secondary equipment such as manual mills, lathes, etc. as needed.
· Works closely with the maintenance department to perform maintenance on all production tooling.
· All other duties as assigned.
Education, Competencies and Work Experience Requirements:
- Ability to consistently live LINDAR’s core values of Integrity, Relationships, Teamwork and Initiative.
- Vocational degree in machining and/or equivalent manual machining and CNC programming experience is required, preferred MasterCam.
- 5 years minimum combined experience in CNC programming, CNC mill setup and operation and manual machining required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills preferred
- Self-motivated
