Duties
- Assist with auto body repairs, including sanding, masking, and prepping vehicles for painting or finishing
- Support technicians with vehicle assembly, disassembly, and reassembly tasks using hand tools and power tools
- Help with sheet metal fabrication, cutting, bending, and welding using MIG welding techniques and other welding methods
- Prepare vehicles for auto painting by sanding surfaces, applying primer, and masking areas as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained
- Assist with auto glass replacement and repair, including handling glass safely and installing new components
- Support vehicle detailing efforts to ensure a high-quality finish that meets customer expectations
- Assist with shop clean up
Experience
- Prior dealership experience or automotive repair background is highly preferred
- Familiarity with MIG welding, sheet metal work, and fabrication techniques
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and auto body components
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and auto painting equipment such as airless paint sprayers
- Knowledge of auto glass installation, auto restoration processes, and auto estimating is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a busy shop environment
- Strong customer service skills with an understanding of automotive repair standards
