Linda Mar Veterinary Hospital is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital in beautiful Pacifica, CA. We are open to full or part time applicants with Saturday availability required.
Who we are:
Linda Mar Vet is a three doctor practice that offers a variety of medical services and surgeries. Our hospital is outfitted with the latest equipment including digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, in-house lab machines and a therapeutic laser. In addition to treating cats and dogs, we also have vets that see pocket pets (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, etc.).
Who we are looking for:
- A veterinary assistant with at least 3 years working in the field or with animals in some capacity.
- Someone with knowledge of animal anatomy and handling techniques.
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices is a plus.
- Someone who is computer proficient. Knowledge of Avimark is a plus.
- A self-motivated, energetic team player who understands the importance of teamwork and that clear, effective communication among clients and team members is a priority.
Some responsibilities include:
- Assisting veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Restraining animals safely and effectively for examinations and treatments.
- Preparing animals for surgery, including administering pre-operative medications.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Performing basic laboratory tests and assisting with diagnostic imaging.
- Providing compassionate care to animals, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Educating pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and health maintenance.
- Documenting patient information accurately in electronic medical records.
Schedule/Availability:
- Saturday hours required
- Prefer someone who is available Monday through Thursday in addition to Saturday
- Part time = up to 24 hours/week
- Full time = 32 to 40 hours/week

Pay & Sign on Bonus
The base hourly range for this position is $20 - $22. Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
We are offering a sign on/retention bonus of up to $750 signing bonus for qualified hires.
