Duties
- Assist nursing staff with patient care activities including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility to promote comfort and independence.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration accurately using medical equipment operation skills.
- Support infection control protocols by maintaining a clean environment and adhering to care facility standards.
- Help with manual handling tasks and safe patient transfers utilizing proper techniques to prevent injury.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) efficiently by documenting patient information clearly and promptly.
- Provide support for emergency situations by performing CPR and basic life support (BLS) as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, surgical units, or outpatient clinics to ensure seamless patient care delivery.
Experience
- Prior inpatient or outpatient experience in acute care settings such as medical-surgical units or emergency departments is highly desirable.
- Experience working within Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers is a strong plus, demonstrating capability in high-pressure environments.
- Geriatrics, post-acute care, or sub-acute care experience enhances your ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations, especially geriatric patients.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and hospital protocols related to infection control and patient safety is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to operate medical equipment safely and efficiently is preferred.
- Previous teaching hospital experience or working within clinics provides valuable insight into complex healthcare processes.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or trauma care are advantageous.
