Manufacturing Engineer

The Process and Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for ensuring the proper production, as far as technical aspects, cost, quality, time and accuracy, through the implementation of continuous improvement.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of the Process Manufacturing Engineer include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Act as lead technical reference for customer and internal organization in the case of materials, coatings, and assembly application.
2. Read, analyze, and discuss customer required specifications managing all qualification kick-off meetings and put decisions into actions. Works to complete projects on time and within budget.
3. Knows elements of Methods-Time Measurement (MTM), analyzes, assigns controls, in agreement with production manager, times of each production step.
4. Develop coating/post-coating processes based on customer requirements, focusing mainly to create robotic programs, verify and interpret results in cooperation with the metallographic laboratory and the Technical Leader. Qualify new products/processes from kick-off to full release and continuously improve the existing ones.
5. Supports production cost quotation and related feasibility studies. Project leadership to continually decrease manufacturing costs.
6. Project leadership of coating/post-coating processes based on Customer requirements. Verify and interpret results in cooperation with Quality technician.
7. Prepare required customer documentation to qualify new products/processes from kick-off to full release. Continuously improve product / processes and utilize proper change management practices.
8. Provides constant support to production from an engineering standpoint in order to prevent and solve any issues to parts during the process flow.
9. Work closely with the customer for the development of the process flow in order to optimize the coating and post processing of the parts to meet the customer’s requirements saving time and cost.
10. Develop production costs quotation and related feasibility study.Project leadership to continually decrease manufacturing costs.
11. Determine and approve the process standards of a new component and provide customer products corresponding to the required quality specifications.
12. Develop, check, and improve component standards in order to promote actions for cost savings and process standard improvement.
13. Participate in Root Cause Corrective Action activities to permanently eliminate defects.
14. Adhere to the Company's Quality and Safety Management System and in accordance with its procedures and requirements.
15. Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methods to improve Key Performance Indicators for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
16. Participate in Kaizen events, promote positive employee environment, and community involvement.
17. Develop the Engineering Team to match the needs of the Company
18. Keep abreast of key technical developments and innovations within the coating industry and encourage team members to do the same.
19. Coordinate, attend and lead team meetings

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: NO

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

1. Experience in the Engineering field (Medical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Aerospace) preferred.
2. Biomedical, Mechanical, Industrial or equivalent Bachelor Engineer degree is required (Master preferred).
3. Proficient in SolidWorks for part modeling and drawing interpretation or CAD Software.
4. Ability to read and make modifications to industrial robot programs (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, KUKA) used in manufacturing processes.
5. Ability to communicate technical concepts to customers, quality teams, and operators
6. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) including BOM creation and routing preferred but not mandatory.
7. Must be able to read, analyze and interpret blueprints and specifications.
8. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
9. Strong knowledge of both metric and US measurement systems.
10. Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
11. Ability to work on Multiple Projects and meet timeline.
12. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive project execution

SKILLS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in both an office environment and a manufacturing environment.The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones and photocopiers. The individual will be required to adhere to safety policies and procedures on the manufacturing floor.

PHYSICAL DEMAND:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, with additional hours as business needs necessitate.

TRAVEL

Occasional overseas and domestic travel may be required to support the rapid growth of the company.
