Intervention Specialist Job Description
To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible growth for any student struggling in the areas of reading and math.
Qualifications:
- Have experience in lesson planning and curriculum development
- Have experience using data and diagnostic tools to further student growth
- Have at least three years of elementary classroom teaching experience
- Have experience and expertise in using technology in education
- Have experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work
- Strong organizational, oral communication, and written communication skills required
- Demonstrate the ability to work and communicate effectively with teachers, parents and families
- Demonstrate the ability to be dependable and punctual
Preferred Qualifications
- Experienced or have working familiarity with intervention programs
- Knowledge of NC Read to Achieve program
Individual must:
- Be a master of content
- Believe in the importance of college preparation
- Seek continuous growth and improvement

- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree from regionally accredited college/university
- Strong background in North Carolina Course of Study/Common Core
- Strong background in literacy and reading foundations preferred
- Valid NC teaching license required (or out of state license with reciprocity)
