Key Responsibilities
Network Operations (NOC):
- Monitor network, server, and system health using monitoring tools.
- Identify and escalate performance issues, outages, or service interruptions.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and document findings in the ticketing system.
- Assist with scheduled maintenance and routine operational checks.
- Monitor SIEM dashboards and security alerts.
- Conduct initial analysis of suspicious activity and escalate confirmed incidents.
- Assist with vulnerability scanning and reporting.
- Follow documented playbooks for common security events.
- Associate’s degree or coursework in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addresses, firewalls, VPNs, DNS).
- Familiarity with common cybersecurity threats (phishing, malware, brute force attacks).
- Knowledge of or exposure to monitoring tools or SIEM platforms a plus.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- CompTIA A or ITF
- CompTIA Network or Security
- Any relevant vendor certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, etc.)
- Eagerness to learn and grow in IT operations and cybersecurity.
- Ability to follow processes and escalate issues appropriately.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
