PAY: $45.00 - $47.00 per hour ($12,000 Sign-On Bonus and Mileage Reimbursement)
HOURS: 6:00PM-6:00AM
What We Are Looking For:
The Respiratory Therapy Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the respiratory therapy department, including care provided to ventilator- and tracheostomy-dependent residents. This role ensures clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, staff competency, and coordination of care under the direction of the Medical Director and Pulmonologist.
What You Will Do:
Clinical Oversight
Supervise respiratory therapy services for residents with ventilators, tracheostomies, and complex respiratory conditions.
Ensure respiratory treatments and ventilator management are performed according to physician orders and best practices.
Collaborate with the Pulmonologist, Medical Director, Respiratory Director, and nursing leadership regarding respiratory care plans.
Staff Supervision & Education
Supervise, schedule, and evaluate Respiratory Therapists (RRTs)
Ensure respiratory staff maintain required licensure, certifications, and competencies.
Provide orientation, ongoing education, and competency evaluations for respiratory staff.
Address performance issues and support professional development.
Ensure safe staff to resident ratios are maintained at all times.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality
Ensure compliance with CMS, IDPH, OSHA, and facility policies related to respiratory care.
Maintain respiratory therapy policies, procedures, and protocols.
Participate in surveys, audits, and quality improvement initiatives related to respiratory services.
Monitor clinical outcomes and implement corrective actions as needed.
Equipment & Supply Management
Oversee maintenance, cleaning, and proper use of respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, and suction equipment.
Coordinate with vendors for equipment servicing and supply ordering.
Ensure emergency respiratory equipment is available and functional.
Collaboration & Leadership
Serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members.
Participate in care plan meetings, QAPI, and leadership meetings as assigned.
Support facility initiatives related to resident safety, infection control, and emergency preparedness.
What You Will Bring:
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). (in good standing)
Valid Illinois state respiratory care practitioner license
Experience in ventilator and tracheostomy care, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching in a healthcare setting.
Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
