We are looking to hire a self-motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a Full-Time, Part-Time, or Per Diem role. A minimum of 2 YEARS of experience is preferred. Urgent Care Experience and a current RI license in good standing are a must. A successful candidate will be well-versed in EMR, have excellent clinical skills, and possess a calm and professional demeanor.
The NP will provide direct patient care in addition to clinical leadership and oversight of clinical support staff.

Role Description
This on-site Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant role is based in North Smithfield, RI. The clinician will evaluate and treat patients of all ages with acute illnesses and minor injuries, including performing focused histories, physical exams, and ordering or interpreting diagnostic tests.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, providing wound care and minor procedures, and documenting encounters in the electronic medical record.
- The role also involves educating patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and follow-up care, collaborating with physicians and staff to ensure continuity of care, and supporting infection control and safety protocols.
- Help maintain efficient patient flow, participate in quality improvement activities, and uphold the clinic’s standards for compassionate, timely care.
Qualifications:
- Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Rhode Island, with national board certification and appropriate DEA registration.
- Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, family practice, or primary care, with strong skills in evaluating and managing common acute conditions.
- Experience in using electronic medical record systems, such as eClinicalWorks
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and documentation requirements
- Proficiency in performing minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, wound care, and basic orthopedic management.
- Ability to order and interpret diagnostic tests, including basic laboratory work, X-rays, and point-of-care testing.
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective, inclusive communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care, culturally sensitive practice, and the maintenance of a safe, clean clinical environment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed to support clinic operations.
Pay: From $60.00/hour, based on experience.
