PURPOSE:
The Program and Staff Development Program leader provides leadership, professional development, and evaluation support to improve faculty/staff performance, program impact, and organizational effectiveness. The PSD Program Leader design professional development Extension faculty/staff, ensures accountability, and guides strategic planning. This position may supervise faculty/staff in the following areas: program development & evaluation, civil rights, and curriculum development. The PSD Program Leader will serve as a member of the Cooperative Extension Leadership Team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Professional Development: Design, deliver, and evaluate educational training programs to enhance faculty/staff skills and performance.
Program Development/Evaluation: Guide faculty in designing, implementing, and evaluating effective Extension programming, utilizing data to demonstrate impact.
Organizational Leadership: Lead strategic planning, establish program priorities, and ensure compliance with USDA/NIFA and the university.
Networking: Establish partnerships between academic departments, communities, and regional/state stakeholders to support
Extension goals.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Strong communication skills.
- Leadership Skills
- Ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in using technology for program delivery and evaluation.
- Expertise in adult education and training techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A master's in adult education, agricultural and extension education, business administration.
- Educational administration/leadership human resource development, or related discipline and a minimum of five years' experience.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A doctorate in adult education, agricultural and extension education, business administration, educational administration/leadership human resource development, or related discipline and a minimum of three years' experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking, sometimes outdoors.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Position involves occasional travel and evening or weekend work.
