Terminal Operator

Lincoln Terminal Company is seeking a Terminal Operator for our Birmingham transload facility. This role loads and offloads product via rail safely and efficiently, and performs general terminal operations, inspections, and maintenance duties regularly.

Responsibilities:

• Offload and load rail cars, to include climbing rail cars to connect and disconnect hoses as well as connecting and disconnecting hoses underneath rail cars.
• Perform terminal yard maintenance including light maintenance on loading rack, equipment and on the grounds/facility (upkeep of trash/debris that may interfere with operations).
• Maintain current knowledge of reporting notification order both internally and externally in the event of a product spill release.
• Ability to work on a rotational on call basis.
• Ability to consistently meet or exceed safety standards.
• Participate in terminal inspections/audits as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Required:

Must be able to pass rail carrier required background check and obtain site badge prior to start date (at no cost to you).

• Highschool diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-1 years of related experience required.
• Demonstrated work ethic and the ability to work safely with limited supervision.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to learn and apply site Contingency/SPCC, NPDES and SWPP plans along with responsibilities and reporting requirements.
• Ability to learn and apply Federal Rail guidelines and reporting requirements.
• Ability to use small hand tools like pipe/spud wrenches.

Preferred:

• Technical Associates degree preferred.
• 2 years of related experience preferred.
• Familiarity with site Contingency/SPCC, NPDES and SWPP plans along with responsibilities and reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with Federal Rail guidelines and reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with the use of small hand tools like pipe/spud wrenches.
• Working knowledge of rail manifold piping, valve alignments, and loading rack equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
• Ability to use/grasp/ small hand tools.
• Ability to climb on and under rail cars.
• Ability to ascend/descend ladders and/or stairs.
