Responsibilities For An Electrician Training Lab Assistant
- Assist faculty in setting up laboratory systems, equipment and trainers for student hands-on assignments
- Monitor students during lab sessions, ensuring adherence to proper safety protocols and industry standards
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to students during laboratory exercises
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on laboratory systems, equipment, and testing instruments
- Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and consumables; ensure materials are available for each lab session
- Assist in equipment setup, breakdown, and storage following lab exercises
- Identify safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, and coordinate repairs as needed
- Communicate with department coordinator regarding equipment status, safety concerns, and student progress
- Participate in program meetings, workshops, and recruitment events as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with Electrical systems, equipment, and components
- Working knowledge of Electrical systems
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with students
- Electrician Journeyman or associate degree in Electrical /Refrigeration
- 3 years experience with Electrical Systems
- Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience
- Physical Requirements - (If needed to maintain lab and equipment)
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. regularly
- Continuous walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling
- Campus Schedule: Monday - Thursday
- Well-equipped training facility with industry-standard equipment
- Stability with a well-established institution (80 years)
