Ideal Candidate Profile
We're seeking leaders with experience in secondary or post-secondary career and technical education. Strong candidates include:
- High School Principals or Assistant Principals, particularly those with CTE program oversight or athletic coaching experience
- Academic leaders from trade schools, technical colleges, or career training institutions
- Directors of Career and Technical Education programs
- Leaders from community colleges with workforce development focus
Note: This role requires experience leading adolescent or adult learners in career-focused educational settings. Elementary education and early childhood education experience does not align with this position's requirements.
Responsibilities of an Academic Dean
- Encourage commitment to the vision and core values of Lincoln Tech
- Emphasize strategies that maximize the use of available resources, to consistently strive for quality results and achieve standards of excellence
- Make effective decisions and support implementation and evaluation of programs and policies
- Assist in budget preparation by forecasting trends and potential requirements
- Contribute to curriculum development and implementation for career and technical programs
- Encourage and support faculty development, training, onboarding, and evaluations
- Focus on faculty recruitment, to ensure qualified instructors for all programs
Requirements of an Academic Dean
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 years of management experience in secondary or post-secondary education
- Prior experience in educational leadership of a career/technical school, high school (grades 9-12), or post-secondary institution
- Demonstrated experience working with adolescent or adult learners
- High school Principals/Vice Principals with athletic coaching experience strongly encouraged to apply
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Demonstrated ability to build successful relationships and partner with senior and executive management
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field
- Experience with career and technical education (CTE) programs
