Senior Investment Performance & Valuation Analyst
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
About the Opportunity
A highly regarded, growth-oriented investment firm is adding a newly created role to its finance team. With continued expansion across its investment strategies and portfolio, the firm is building out its Valuation & Performance capabilities to support increasing complexity and scale.
This role sits within the Valuation & Performance function and offers direct exposure to investment professionals, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams including Legal, Compliance, and Business Development.
What You’ll Do
Valuations
- Support quarterly valuation processes across a diverse and growing portfolio
- Prepare and analyze portfolio company valuations and key metrics
- Partner with investment teams to understand company performance, forecasts, and outlook
- Maintain valuation support documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies
- Interface with auditors and third parties on valuation matters
Performance & Reporting
- Maintain fund and portfolio performance track records
- Support internal reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc analyses
- Assist with investor-related reporting and information requests
Portfolio Data & Process Improvement
- Help support and scale portfolio company data collection and validation processes
- Partner with portfolio finance teams to gather key performance metrics
- Contribute to initiatives focused on enhancing reporting workflows and improving data processes, including leveraging technology tools
What They’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- ~4–5 years of experience in valuation, transaction advisory, or related field
- Strong understanding of valuation methodologies and financial analysis (ASC 820 exposure preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with tools such as FactSet, Bloomberg, or similar
- Strong modeling, analytical, and presentation skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
