FOR 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
Lincoln Public Schools is continuously accepting applications for the Substitute Paraeducator position. The Substitute Paraeducator is an on-call position replacing the regularly assigned paraeducator. The position consists of a variety of duties dependent upon the type of student needs and programs.
The responsibilities include assisting teachers in carrying out the district's educational programming; classroom and lunchroom supervision; aiding a student with special needs - learning and behavioral needs, as well as mental and physical challenges; early childhood programs; and school entrance monitoring and supervision. The Substitute Paraeducator position requires flexibility and willingness to follow directions. You must also adapt quickly to new locations and duties, have strong organizational skills, and possess oral/written communication skills.
Position hours will be dependent on assignment work schedule. Looking for candidates for both short-term and long-term substitute opportunities. Substitute Paraedcators must be available to also work during those times they have indicated availabiltiy.
Substitute Paraeducators are required to review and sign the appropriate job description prior to accepting substitute assignments. Additionally, Secured Entrance Monitor Substitute Para must complete training prior to accepting assignments.
2025-2026 Salary $16.25/hour (2026-2027 Salary pending board approval)
This position is subject to veterans preference.
