Local Substitute Teacher (2025-2026 school year)
Local Substitute Teachers are individuals who hold a bachelor degree (or higher) in a field other than education OR are current Teacher Education students of senior standing (60 credit hours).
Full Day Pay Rate: $167.89*
Half Day Pay Rate: $83.94*
*These are the pay rates for 2024-25. Rates for 2025-26 have not been finalized.

- NDE Local Substitute permit required by time of hire. (Note: Human Relations training is required in order to obtain the NDE Local Substitute permit)

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Current LPS employees retiring or changing from a benefits eligible position to a Substitute Only position are subjected to NPERS and PPACA re-employment rules and will need to wait 90 or 180 days.
