Primary Purpose
Under the supervision of the classroom teacher, the Integrated Preschool Assistant provides direct services to individuals and small groups of students in an inclusion setting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports students during small and large groups times to engage in educational and social interactions.
- Leads the class and/or small groups in activities.
- Provides direct support to individuals and small groups of students based on Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Under the direction of the classroom teacher or special education liaison, modifies and adapts instruction according to a student’s IEP.
- Monitors student progress, records performance data, and communicates such to the classroom teacher.
- Assist students in completing activities of daily living.
- Prepares instruction materials according to teacher guidelines.
- Promotes appropriate social interaction and behavioral compliance for students, including implementing behavior plans.
- Other duties as assigned.
