MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE TEACHER
Lincoln Preparatory School seeks a Middle School Science Teacher. The teacher will deliver rigorous, standards-aligned curricula to build strong knowledge and skills. The teacher will promote and nurture the education of students by planning and tailoring courses of study; monitoring, assisting with, and correcting academic efforts; and providing a safe environment conducive to learning and character development. Over their course of study, students will assume responsibility for the science topics they explore – students will understand theorems that are developed, test results for reasonability, and use techniques, tools, and technology appropriately.
The teacher will perform the following duties:
Plan, develop, and deliver rigorous instruction derived from the school’s core curriculum and supplementary resources.
Assess students regularly and use data to drive instruction as well as to provide remediation and enrichment based on individual student need and ability.
Communicate students’ progress toward realizing academic goals, partnering with parents and school personnel to provide instructional and emotional support and resources.
Build a classroom environment that is welcoming, academic, joyful, and safe.
Attend professional development meetings and opportunities that may exceed the regular school day hours.
Support the school’s extracurricular and family outreach initiatives as necessary.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
All Lincoln Preparatory School teachers must have a valid Louisiana teaching certification or be enrolled in an accredited certification program within their first year.
Preferred Qualifications*
Valid Louisiana teaching certificate
Two or more years teaching in urban, high school education
Advanced degree in relevant content areas
