Job Summary
Lincoln Pipestone Rural Water System is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and specialty functions of our rural water system. This leadership position is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant water service through operational planning, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, infrastructure coordination, and the effective use of technology and asset management systems.
The Operations Manager will provide direction to field and specialty staff, oversee treatment and distribution system performance, coordinate capital improvement and infrastructure projects, maintain compliance with applicable drinking water and workplace safety regulations, and work closely with customers, landowners, regulators, government agencies, and industry partners. This role requires strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with extensive knowledge of water utility operations, maintenance, water resources, and related technologies such as GIS/GPS, SCADA, and asset management systems.
Ideal candidates will have experience in water utility operations, project management, employee supervision, public interaction, and computerized operational systems. A Class B Water Operator’s License is highly desirable.
