What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Coordinator position at Lincoln Park Zoological Society?

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Marketing Coordinator assists the Lincoln Park Zoo marketing team to help run the zoo’s marketing & brand strategy across all departments. The Marketing Coordinator will play a crucial role in digital marketing and promotions strategy, working closely with Communications, Production and Design teams to ensure the consistency of this messaging. The Marketing Coordinator reports to the Senior Digital Marketing Manager and works closely with a variety of departments across the zoo to represent their initiatives, programming and mission through our branding on digital channels. The role requires a high level of organization and collaboration.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Track and record all marketing performance data (ad campaigns, web metrics, email performance, other engagement) using Google analytics, Salesforce dashboards, Microsoft Excel, and other tools. Deliver regular reports to marketing team.
- Participate in strategy discussions around campaigns, revenue generation, events, and more.
- Support events on social media. Help populate event page content in collaboration with the Social Media Coordinator, according to the content calendar and brand guidelines. Source and track influencers and partners for promotion of events and other zoo initiatives.
- Manage content needs of Lincoln Park Zoo digital properties, including lpzoo.org, a web-based app, Ticketure, and more. This includes publishing and updating select sections of lpzoo.org including home page cards, event pages, daily programming, web alert bars, and other operational content. Update the site daily with pertinent information and/or changes. Work within process flows for approvals as needed.
- Execute all zoo email list distribution with provided assets. Write copy, build and deploy emails. Leverage email data and work with marketing team to optimize email and concept drip campaigns.
- Meet regularly with Senior Digital Marketing Manager and participate in monthly, full team meetings.
- Assist with production request process as needed.
- Attend and help with zoo events as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Experience working with websites in Wordpress.
- Experience with data tracking and reporting.
- Experience with digital marketing tools and processes.
- Ability to meet deadlines and be incredibly organized.

- Highly motivated self-starter capable of independent work as well as team projects.
REQUIREMENTS
- Up to 2 years of experience in digital and/or email marketing.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and apps, including Outlook and Excel.
- Experience with Google analytics, Meta analytics, and other reporting & tracking tools and methods.
- Consistently demonstrate professional work ethic and demeanor.
- Must be a team player and help to maintain a fun and positive work atmosphere.
- Available to work full-time, Monday-Friday, and potentially, some weekends based on seasonal or zoo needs. Must be Chicago-based and available to work in the office 3 days/week and as job requirements dictate.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit for long periods of time while viewing a computer monitor.
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks to support events.
- Ability to work in an open office environment.
In addition, while all roles do not work directly with wildlife or zoo guests, all staff may be called upon at any time to support zoo operations. This could involve work that includes Lincoln Park Zoo’s physical requirements:
- Ability to remain stationary for 3-5 hours/day, and to move around inside (office and/or warehouse environment) and outside (event production).
- Ability to regularly perform a variety of physical tasks that may include but are not limited to climbing, bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and/or crawling. Reasonable accommodation will be made as needed.
- Ability and willingness to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability and willingness to operate and safely drive electric carts.
- Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability and willingness to wear required personal protective equipment.
- No allergies to plants or animals exhibited on zoo grounds.
- Ability to traverse zoo grounds.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Salary: $47,500 annually
