Automotive Motor Vehicle (DMV) Clerk

Job Summary

Lincoln of Wayne is 3rd generation and family-owned since 1962 and is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Motor Vehicle Clerk to join our growing dealership team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all vehicle titles and registrations in strict compliance with New Jersey MVC guidelines. The ideal candidate has excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of out-of-state transitions, and a proven track record of managing dealership DMV workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Process all new, pre-owned, and out-of-state title and registration paperwork through the NJ MVC.
• Verify funds, tax rates, and title documents for accuracy prior to submission.
• Submit paperwork within strict state-mandated timelines to avoid late fees and tracking penalties.
• Maintain absolute compliance with all NJ CAR and state regulatory requirements.
• Manage dealership DMV schedules and resolve any title or registration discrepancies quickly.
• Securely inventory and track state-issued assets, including temporary tags, license plates, and registration stickers.
• Flip titles and manage lien payoffs with financial institutions and manufacturers.
• Assist sales teams and customers with billing, title inquiries, and registration updates.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years of experience as a DMV/Title Clerk in an automotive dealership REQUIRED
• Systems: Proficiency with CDK and CVR dealership management platforms
• Credentials: High school diploma or equivalent; NJ CAR Motor Vehicle Certification is a major plus.
• Skills: High attention to detail, exceptional time-management, and strong written/verbal communication skills.
• Must pass a standard background check and drug screening.

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
