HEAD COOK JOB DESCRIPTION

EDWARDSVILLE COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT #7

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain accurate production records
2. Inventory __ maintain accurate records and order food
3. Work/supervise special events in your building (catering)
4. Execute weekly and monthly specials and promotions
5. Do marketing and merchandising of products
6. Produce excellent quality and quantity of work
7. Wear clothing of work or uniform type material, including hair nets and hard shoes
8. Practice excellent personal hygiene
9. Comply with Illinois State Board of Education, Illinois Department of Public Health and U.S.D.A. rules and regulations covering school feeding programs
10. Practice excellent work habits including excellent attendance and promptness
11. Maintain high level of personal fitness
12. Use sound judgment
13. Be adaptable when necessary
14. Be of sound moral character
15. Support the food service administration team, and feeding programs in such a way as to  assure success
16. Promote teamwork and maintain excellent relationship as a team member with other employees
17. Perform other duties necessary to the position as assigned by Supervisor/Administraton 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Superior work habits and ethics

2. Excellent communication skills – written and verbal

3. FSSMC Sanitation Certification
4. Allergen Safety Certification
5. Ability to work independently (self-motivated) and as a team member
6. Supervisory skills for directing flow of  cafeteria
7. Ability to work well with administration, faculty, students and parents
8. Ability to perform duties as outlined

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be able to lift  push or pull objects up to 40-60 pounds on a regular repetitive basis.
2. Must be able to speak, hear, see, write, walk, climb, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, twist, turn, push, pull and reach (above head and below knees) on a regular and repetitive basis.
3. Tasks require extensive use of hands including repetitive gripping, grasping, lifting and manipulation of equipment necessary to perform duties.

Salary HC Stipend $2.05 Sanitation License Stipend $0.25

Salary : $17 - $19
