Quality Control Inspector

Job Type: Full Time (hourly)
Lincoln Manufacturing is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of QC Inspector at our Houston, TX location; to inspect API Products and Customer Specific OCTG Products with critical tolerances of /- 0.001” on Linear and Diameter dimensions in a safe, efficient manner that ensures quality conformance to the customer's specifications and procedures.
This is an hourly position and is non-exempt.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
- Ensure the Inspection of API or customer-specific quality products.
- Record inspection data with clear and legible writing.
- Wear safety equipment at all times during working hours (i.e., safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, gloves).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. with both hands from the floor to the waist
- Repetitive twisting motion when screwing and unscrewing part on plug/ring gage;
- Bending down to stack parts on pallets;
- Standing on a concrete floor over extended period of time;
- Ability to use inspection gages and instruments with both hands—must have full range of motion on thumbs, index fingers, and middle fingers on both hands;
- Passing the color contrast and Jaeger II vision tests.
- Ability to inspect 120 to 150 threads per shift
Preferred: Ability to use and perform the following…
- Inspect API thread connection
- Ability to use and set up Lead gages, Taper gages, Thread height gages, Ring gages, MRP Gages, and MicTrac
- Experience making and checking thread molds using the correct overlay with an Optical Comparator
- Able to read API and customer-specific drawings
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of API and ISO requirements
Required:
- Working knowledge of calipers, OD Mics, ID Mics, Depth Mics, verniers, scales, etc.
- Ability to read and understand dimensional drawings
- Performed dimensional inspections using drawing and the tools mentioned above
- Ability to convert fractions to decimals
- Ability to read and understand procedures, work instructions and detailed work orders
- Ability to complete detailed inspection reports
- Punctual and dependable
