IT & Technology Summer 2026 Intern
Location: Fort Washington, PA

Position Type: Temporary (Summer Internship)
Overview
The Technology organization is seeking a motivated and curious Summer Intern to support various teams across the department. This internship provides hands-on experience in enterprise technology, including infrastructure operations, cybersecurity, digital workplace solutions, application development, and analytics.
This role is ideal for candidates who are eager to learn, enjoy problem-solving, and are interested in gaining exposure to real-world IT operations in a fast-paced environment.
Team Areas
Interns will gain exposure to one or more of the following teams:
- Cybersecurity
- Infrastructure Operations (Systems & Operations)
- Workplace/End-User Technology (Digital Workplace)
- Systems Solutions (Application Development & Integration)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with technology operational tasks such as inventory, data collection, and analysis. Participate in one of the following activities:
- Support desktop, application, and end‑user technology initiatives within the Digital Workplace space.
- Provide Security Operations analysis and support
- Assist Infrastructure Operations with process development tasks and work with monitoring teams on improvement projects.
- Participate in Application Development Lifecycle activities
- Participate in team meetings and cross‑department collaboration to observe real workflows and contribute when appropriate.
- Help document procedures, processes, or knowledge‑base content for operational teams.
- Provide general assistance on active projects—cloud initiatives, application support, monitoring tasks, or workflow improvements—based on evolving team priorities.
- Perform research or small proof‑of‑concept investigations on modern workplace tools, automation, or user experience enhancements.
- Support service desk or tech‑ops teams with low‑risk, well‑defined tasks to gain an understanding of enterprise technology environments.
Required Qualifications
- Strong interest in information technology, digital workplace solutions, or enterprise systems.
- Foundational understanding of computing concepts, productivity tools, and modern workplace technology.
- Ability to learn quickly, ask thoughtful questions, and work independently with guidance.
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to interact with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Detail‑oriented approach with willingness to take on structured administrative or analytical tasks.
Preferred College Majors/Academic Background:
- Computer Science
- Information Systems / Information Science & Technology
- Cybersecurity
- Computer Engineering
- Management Information Systems (MIS)
- Data Analytics / Data Science
- Business Technology hybrid programs
- STEM majors with computing minors or demonstrated interest in technology
Preferred Technical Skills
Exposure to or interest in the following areas is a plus:
- Modern workplace platforms (Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint)
- Cloud concepts (Azure, cloud‑based services)
- Basic scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python)
- Data analysis skills (Excel, basic BI concepts)
- Enterprise support concepts - ticketing systems, troubleshooting, user experience design
- Understanding of networking, device management, or cybersecurity fundamentals
- Curiosity toward emerging technologies and digital workplace trends
Work Schedule & Structure
- Full-time: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM ET
