Program Overview
Lincoln Hall’s Family Reunification Program (FRP) is on a 450-acre campus in Westchester County, NY, about 45 minutes north of New York City. The FRP provides temporary shelter services to unaccompanied children until they can be safely reunified with sponsors in the United States. While in our care, the children receive a host of services, including clinical, case management, medical, nutritional, recreational, religious, and educational services, all aimed at supporting the child’s physical, mental, behavioral, and emotional well-being.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead activities for groups or recreation centers
- Explain the rules of activities and instruct participants at a variety of skill levels
- Enforce safety rules to prevent injury
- Modify activities to suit the needs of specific groups, such as seniors
- Administer basic first aid if needed
- Organize and set up the equipment that is used in recreational activities
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one to three years of work experience working with children. Recreation-oriented
- experience a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to manage and resolve
- conflict.
- Ability to engage and motivate adolescents with varied sports interests and athletic abilities
- Mastery of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred.)
- Lifeguard Certification (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to negotiate stairs and public transportation
- Must be able to sit, bend, kneel, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to supervise residents in all program areas in a safe manner
Job Type: Full-time / Exempt
Salary: $22.81 hourly
Schedule: Flexible (Weekend Availability)
