**The Role at a Glance**
As a 'Specialist, Group Assumptions & Reserve Strategy' you will assist in the monitoring, development and setting of key reserve assumptions for Group Long Term Disability, Short Term Disability, and Group Life products. You will perform and deliver on monthly Source of Earnings, A/E reporting and ad-hoc analysis concerning performance of the key assumptions.
**What you'll be doing**
Help design, run, and improve monthly assessment of assumptions through A/E tools, Source of Earnings analysis, and other ad-hoc analysis.
Execute components of the retrospective and prospective margin analysis, and assist in development of a recurring reserve adequacy Dashboard
Assist in the assessment of experience, source of earnings analysis, reserve adequacy, and forward-looking drivers to develop reserve assumption update recommendations
Promotes and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within the Valuation team.
Identifies and communicates to management process improvements that reduce workloads or improve quality for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Performs data analysis and calculations for consistency and reasonableness to support broader actuarial deliverables for assumption design, testing and audit support.
Performs and delivers on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously gaining, leveraging, and applying knowledge of the reserve process and assumptions.
Finds and implements ways to enhance models and processes to generate greater accuracy and efficiency.
Identifies risk issues and uses effective model control and documentation processes.
**What we're looking for**
4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or other quantitative major (Minimum Required)
1 - 3 Years of experience in actuarial science that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required)
Upon Hire Certifications/Licensures: (3-6 Actuarial Exams passed)
