Special Education Strategist I Teacher Lincoln Elementary
The Washington Community School District is looking for a dynamic, flexible, and caring individual to fill the position of special education strategist I teacher at Lincoln Elementary for the 2026-2027school year.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education Strategist I or willing to pursue proper licensure. General knowledge literacy and math strategies. Experience working with diverse populations. Ability to use cultural knowledge to enhance student learning Initiatives.
- A self-starter with a willingness to receive certification in Safety Cares, Capturing Kids Hearts, and additional training as necessary. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
The employee serves as a teacher leader in specialized instruction and case management for students with disabilities. As a leader and specialist, the employee works with coaches, and supports teachers and support staff in identifying, developing, and implementing curriculum, assessment, and instructional strategies designed to improve the learning of students with disabilities. The special education teacher shares in the responsibility for student safety, collaboration and attention to each student’s readiness to learn including needed guidance, discipline, and welfare.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Applicant will collaboratively plan with classroom teachers, instruct in a co-teaching and integrated services model, and use positive communication to be an integral part of a team. Applicant will serve instructional minutes and all components of the student’s Individualized Education Plan and develops the students’ IEPs in collaboration with the team. Utilizes data to guide all decision making. Promotes an inclusive and equitable school experience for all. Oversees the implementation of an individualized learning experience for each child.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 184 days total = Teacher calendar year. Salary and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the District's policy on Evaluation, State Statute, and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
