Weekend Machinist (3 Day Schedule)

Position Summary

Responsible for doing multiple set ups per shift and machining weldments, block work of all sizes, Flame/grind plates, pins, etc. in a timely manner, while maintaining exceptional quality.

Job Responsibilities

• Independently set-up and operate 5 axis CNC machine, to machine parts per print efficiently and accurately;
• Inspects work for conformance to specifications;
• Maintain little to no re-work or scrap;
• Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes;
• Maintains a satisfactory attendance and punctuality record
• Keep work area clean and organized; and
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  
  

Experience/Skills

• 5-7 years minimum experience as a machinist;
• Prior experience setting up and operating HAAS VMC’s and Mazak Lathes.
• High attention to detail and quality;
• A good knowledge base and understanding of M and G code;
• Mazatrol programming experience a plus;
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints;
• Understand basic GD&T call-outs;
• Ability to accurately use standard machinist measuring tools;
• Ability to setup and run “one-off” parts to print efficiently and accurately;
• Must work well under pressure; and
• Excellent team player with organizational and time management skills.
