We’re looking for a sharp, data-driven Rates and Forecasting Analyst to join the LES team! In this role, you’ll play a key part in developing and maintaining pricing models, forecasting energy trends, and delivering insights that directly impact strategic decisions. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset, proficiency with quantitative tools, and a passion for using business intelligence techniques to turn data into actionable insights. JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for performing economic, financial, statistical, and cost analyses in order to determine long-range forecasts and design utility rates and pricing. Specific duties include gathering, analyzing and maintaining data; reconciling forecasts with actual amounts; performing research; and providing actionable information regarding areas of responsibility. Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Performs in-depth analysis of company costs, cost causation and customer usage to determine cost of service.

  • Assists in the development and analysis of short-range and long-range sales and revenue forecasts using industry standard modeling techniques.

  • Designs, develops, proposes, maintains, and monitors pricing and rate structures to ensure proper cost recovery.

  • Updates and maintains load research database and performs statistical analysis of customer usage and trends.

  • Keeps current on industry and technological trends and uses insights to propose new rate designs and forecasting techniques.

  • Responsible for development and analysis of regional and national pricing and reliability studies.

  • Designs and builds comprehensive reports, dashboards and other tools to assist with business decisions.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient use of Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and enterprise systems. SAP experience preferred.

  • Excellent quantitative and data visualization skills

  • Proficiency with statistical and econometric techniques. Experience with EViews, R, or Python a plus.

  • Creative and innovative thinker able to effectively communicate technical and complex analysis.

  • Strong curiosity and initiative to explore rapidly-evolving industry trends.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Analytics or related field, and

  • Two years of progressively responsible experience in area of assignment, or

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
