Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Plant Manager to lead our Oklahoma manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for overseeing daily plant operations, driving on-time delivery, safety, quality, and efficiency, and building a strong, accountable culture on the shop floor.
This position will report directly to the Director of Operations and will oversee Team Leads across production and manufacturing operations. We require a leader who can execute, hold teams accountable, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving, family-owned environment.
Working Conditions: Office/Shop Environment
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management
- Oversee all daily plant operations including production, assembly, and scheduling
- Drive On-Time Delivery (OTD) ≥ 95%
- Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule
- Ensure alignment between production output and customer demand
Leadership & Culture
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and shop personnel
- Establish a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
- Address performance issues and drive team consistency
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a zero-injury safety culture
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
- Enforce all shop floor policies and procedures
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Drive zero quality escapes from the plant
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Partner with Engineering to resolve production issues
Financial & KPI Management
- Manage labor efficiency and control overtime (target <5%)
- Track and report on key performance metrics
- Implement corrective actions to improve performance
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Sales, and NJ leadership teams
- Ensure clear communication between Oklahoma and New Jersey operations
- Support company-wide operational initiatives
Qualifications:
Required:
- 8–12 years of manufacturing experience
- 3–5 years in a Plant Manager or senior operations leadership role
- Experience in low-voltage switchgear manufacturing or similar electrical equipment environment
- Strong knowledge of production scheduling and assembly operations
- Proven ability to drive KPIs (OTD, safety, quality, efficiency)
- Hands-on leadership style with strong shop floor presence
Preferred:
- Experience in engineered-to-order manufacturing
- Familiarity with UL, NEC, and NEMA standards
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
- Experience working in a family-owned or evolving organization
