What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contractor Sales Representative (50188) position at Lincoln Creek Lumber?
About the Role
At Lincoln Creek Lumber, our Contractor Sales team is the engine behind our business-to-business relationships. This isn't an order-taker role; it's a full-cycle sales position for someone who knows the building industry, understands what contractors actually need, and has the drive to go find new business just as confidently as they serve the customers already walking through the door.
If you can read a set of blueprints, build an accurate material takeoff, and then carve out time each day to prospect and grow your account list, we want to talk to you.
What You'll Do
-
Own a portfolio of contractor and business accounts; building trust, anticipating needs, and staying one step ahead
-
Prospect and cold call to grow your book of business; this role rewards people who make things happen, not wait for them
-
Manage all leads, contacts, and sales activity in Zoho CRM with accuracy and consistency
-
Read construction drawings and blueprints to build detailed material estimates and takeoffs
-
Build estimates and process orders in our POS system
-
Research pricing, establish vendor sourcing, and issue purchase orders
-
Coordinate with internal teams including shipping and bookkeeping to ensure smooth order fulfillment
-
Verify delivery accuracy alongside yard personnel and customers
-
Track customer purchasing trends to identify upsell and add-on opportunities
-
Monitor competitor pricing, products, and service offerings to keep our department sharp
-
Train teammates on products, sales techniques, and technology as the opportunity arises
-
Wear a radio and stay connected with the broader team throughout the day
-
Pick, pull, and pack will-call orders for customers when needed
-
Follow all company policies and represent Lincoln Creek Lumber with professionalism in every interaction
Who You Are
You're a seasoned sales professional with real roots in the building materials or construction industry. You know lumber. You know the trades. You understand what contractors are up against on a job site, and that knowledge earns you credibility before you've said a word about price.
You're equally comfortable building a long-term relationship with a loyal GC as you are dialing a cold lead on a Tuesday morning. You don't wait to be busy; you create your own momentum. And when a customer comes to the counter with a problem, you solve it.
You take CRM seriously because you know that a well-managed pipeline is what separates a good sales year from a great one.
What We're Looking For

Demonstrated experience in contractor or building materials sales

-

-
Self-directed and motivated; you manage your time well and hold yourself accountable
-
Strong communicator in person, by phone, and in writing
-
Professional, trustworthy, and genuinely invested in your customers' success
-
Detail-oriented with solid analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Valid in-state driver's license with an acceptable driving record
-
Bilingual in Spanish (verbal and written) strongly desired

High School Diploma or GED required
