Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Land Records Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate land and property records, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Your expertise will support real estate transactions, right-of-way processes, and land management initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive title searches using public records, legal descriptions, and mapping software to verify ownership and easements.
  • Review and process real estate documentation, including deeds, easements, rights-of-way, and legal descriptions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain and update title records within real estate transaction management software and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) platforms.
  • Perform title review in accordance with underwriting guidelines to assess risks and ensure compliance with legal standards.
  • Support real estate closing management by preparing necessary documentation, coordinating with law offices, and tracking transaction progress.
  • Research public records to gather pertinent information related to property ownership, encumbrances, or restrictions affecting land use.
  • Assist in mapping projects by utilizing mapping software to visualize property boundaries, easements, and other land features for internal or client use.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate law, legal descriptions, easements, rights-of-way, and title processing procedures.
  • Experience with real estate transaction management software and GIS tools for mapping and data analysis.
  • Ability to perform detailed title searches using public records and legal research techniques.
  • Familiarity with real estate law principles related to property ownership, encumbrances, and legal descriptions.
  • Excellent research skills combined with meticulous attention to detail for reviewing title records and legal documents.
  • Effective client communication skills coupled with exceptional customer service abilities to support stakeholders throughout transactions.
  • Prior law office experience or background in real estate documentation review is highly desirable.
