Position Summary
The Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is seeking an experienced Deputy Prosecuting Attorney II. This position will be managing a caseload of criminal prosecutions. DPA II handles progressively complex matters from case evaluation and charging through trial and appeal for both District and Superior Courts.
Essential Functions
- Criminal Prosecution: Handle all aspects of criminal cases, including case evaluation, charging decisions, plea negotiations, and conducting both jury and bench trials.
- Agency Collaboration: Work closely with the Lincoln County Sheriff, local police, and the Washington State Patrol.
- Courtroom Advocacy: Represent the State of Washington in Superior, District, and Juvenile courts, including arguing pretrial motions and probation revocations.
- Victim Support: Coordinate with advocates and support staff to assist victims and witnesses throughout the judicial process.
Qualifications
- Education: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Licensing: Member in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA).
- Experience: Typically, 1–3 years of relevant criminal law experience; prior experience in a prosecutor's office or public entity is preferred.
