CLASS TITLE: Early Childhood/Preschool Family Liaison
REPORTS TO: Early Childhood Program Director/Designee

BASIC FUNCTION:
Support children and families through a partnership process. Act as a liaison for assigned families and schools. Engage families in children learning and development.
Representative Duties:
- Participate in and support all School Readiness and Family Engagement activities and trainings as required.
- Implement program's referral systems and procedures.
- Coordinate social service and health referrals with needed follow-up.
- Maintain documentation notebooks of referrals, services and follow ups for children and families.
- Advocate for the program and families.
- Compile registration packets.
- Complete enrollment applications.
- Assist families with the partnership process.
- Track children's health and education records and maintain documentation in notebook.
- Address parent concerns related to their child's health and education.
- Maintain child plus database.
- Prepare and maintain children's cumulative and health folders.
- Conduct home visits.
- Provide support to assigned families.
- Conduct parent orientation meetings.
- Assist the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator with:
- Monthly parent meetings and trainings.
- The development, dissemination, and compilation of parent surveys.
- Policy Council and Preschool Inter-Agency Planning Council for school readiness meetings.
- Coordination of family services with Family Resource Centers.
- Collect information for state and federal review, e.g. immunizations, PIR, community assessment, etc.
- Assist teaching staff with attendance tracking.
- Administer screening tools-DIAL-R, DIAL-3, or Battelle
- Provide support and resources to teaching staff.
- Conduct classroom visits and observations - playground and classroom checklist.
- Participate in the program’s annual self-assessment process.
- Serve on community agency councils.
- Serve as an Early Childhood/Preschool Substitute Teacher if an appropriately certified substitute teacher is not available.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Assist in the administration and coordination of a community education center’s programs and services.
- Develop and establish cooperative community relations.
- Develop, implement and coordinate an ongoing recruitment plan for education center programs and services.

- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Maintain records and prepare reports.

- Prioritize and schedule work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to:
- BA in social, human, or family services or minimum of Family Development Credential.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in related field.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
- Maintain annual substitute teacher certification.
Salary: As established by the salary schedule determined by the Board of Education
