Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Ensure that all facilities are stocked with necessary supplies, such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Conduct routine inspections of school facilities and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Set up and take down furniture and equipment for school events, meetings, and activities as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for all staff and students.
- Assist in the removal of trash and recycling from all areas of the school.
- Participate in special cleaning projects, such as deep cleaning during school breaks or after events.
- Maintain custodial equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Collaborate with other staff members to support the overall cleanliness and functionality of the school.
- Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
