Job Title: Territory Manager
Lincoln Contractors Supply is a family-owned company founded in 1956 by Alfred Knief and Wilmer Guenther. We are currently under the third generation of family leadership with Aaron Knief as President.
LCS has grown to operate in 11 locations throughout the state of Wisconsin. We lead the industry in retail sales, service, and rental of construction equipment and supplies. We employ approximately 140 full time people and continue to grow.

Salary Range: $60k-$100k

Reporting: The Territory Manager report to the VP of Sales. However, Branch salesmen also have a responsibility to support the branch employees on a daily basis. Therefore, it is the salesman’s duty to assist the branch manager and staff as required to maintain the highest level of customer service and branch staffing needs.
- Accountability Objective: Territory Manager To achieve or exceed annual sales penetration forecast for your specific geographical territory for all Lincoln Contractors Supply (LCS) products.
- To maintain a professional, appearance at all times
- To conduct yourself in a professional manner on and off the jobsite.
- Statement of Duties: To achieve a strong customer base within the assigned customer base through ongoing development of new customers. To develop an organized and well-planned field sales effort designed to meet the company’s growth and market share requirements.
- Develop a sales activity plan each week to cost-effectively use your time and company resources.
- Secure quotations and new order opportunities from existing and new accounts.
- Provide prompt personal follow-up to all customer inquiries and quotation requests.
- Establish professional customer/vendor relationships with personnel in all decision-making levels within the customer organization.
- Monitor account indebtedness and credit to maintain good credit worthiness and assist the credit department in discrepancy matters.
- To aggressively seek out and maintain a large number of user accounts which actively use LCS products.
- To remain in close contact with those accounts to assure that a proper level of sales penetration is attained.
- To actively promote and implement LCS and manufacturer marketing programs within your territory.
- To report to the sales manager or company officers all information regarding customer needs, market trends, and competitive promotions that could have an effect on sales performance and future growth of your territory and the company. All information of this nature should be forwarded to the sales manager through notes and history in our contact management program.
- To maintain account records with in the company contact management program. All records while in your possession remain the property of the company and are not to be copied or transferred at any time.
- To assist branch store sales staff and sales manager with the collection and consolidation of market research data, acting as the prime resource on a localized basis for such information.
- To work closely with the branch manager and/or sales manager to develop an annual forecast for products.
- To annually perform a territory analysis, classifying accounts and products by potential then developing a plan to realize maximum sales potential for those account and products.
- To introduce and promote new products within the territory, using jobsite demonstrations, promotional media, and special customer seminars to attain customer awareness and sales.
- To maintain the use of special demonstration (vehicle stock, rental equipment and loaners) with proper paperwork procedures and being responsible for all equipment left with customers on trial or as a loaner.
- To maintain the company vehicle within the manufacturers service guidelines. In case of a accident a police accident report must be filled out and a copy furnished to the company risk manager. You must submit to a drug test immediately after any accident with a company vehicle.
- To manage the use of credit within the territory to assure that all product problems are resolved on a timely basis to both the customer and LCS
- If, as the manager of your territory, you find that a customer is in questionable financial condition, it is your responsibility to contact the LCS Credit Manager. A decision between the Territory Manager and the Credit Manager on how to proceed with this customer will be made on a case-by-case basis. Any variation from this decision must have written approval by the credit manager or corporate officer.
- To keep current on product technology, sales and marketing approaches through reading periodicals and manufacturers publications and attending company scheduled seminars.
- Feedback Reports Planned call objectives for the day completed through the Company’s Contact Relationship Management Program (CRM)
- Product quotations done through the Company’s CRM.
- Orders received
- Orders lost and why
- Problems concerning LCS Customer relations.
- Expense reports on a regular basis.
