Schedule: Monday-Thursday (8 hrs/day, 32/week)
Lincolnton Campus: 3 days/week
Denver Campus: 1 day/week

Social Worker
Summary
The School Social Worker plays a key role in supporting the whole child by addressing challenges that impact student success both in and out of the classroom. This position focuses on building strong relationships with students and families, improving attendance, and providing targeted support through school-based services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for working with students and supporting their overall development
- Support the school’s mission of preparing students for college and long-term success
- Model and reinforce core school values such as integrity, respect, empathy, responsibility, service, and preparedness
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and barriers to academic success
- Develop and implement targeted, evidence-based interventions for students and families
- Collaborate with students, families, staff, and community partners to support student outcomes
- Provide crisis response and support related to issues such as family conflict, substance use, and behavioral concerns
- Advocate for equitable access to educational opportunities and student support services
- Serve as a resource for staff by offering insight into factors impacting student performance and well-being
- Promote a positive school climate and contribute to a supportive learning environment
- Provide training and resources to families, staff, and community members to help address barriers to learning
- Support school-wide initiatives related to prevention, early intervention, family engagement, and student transitions
- Assist with attendance interventions, including outreach and home visits as needed
- Assist with crisis intervention and provide support during emergency situations
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all confidentiality and reporting requirements
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including MTSS or IEP-related discussions as needed
- Serve as the liaison for McKinney–Vento Homeless Assistance Act and foster care
- Work collaboratively across multiple campuses as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field
- School Social Worker licensure/certification (or eligibility, depending on state requirements)
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in an educational or community setting
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage sensitive situations with professionalism

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
