Role Description The Respiratory Therapist is a full-time, on-site role based in Albany, GA, providing direct respiratory care and education to patients in coordination with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include assessing cardiopulmonary status, setting up and monitoring respiratory therapy equipment, and delivering therapies such as oxygen, nebulizer treatments, and non-invasive ventilation in accordance with clinical protocols. The role involves patient and family education on equipment use, safety, and disease management, as well as documentation of assessments, treatments, and outcomes in compliance with regulatory and company standards. The Respiratory Therapist will collaborate with the care team to develop and adjust care plans, respond to urgent patient needs, and support quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Respiratory Therapy and Respiratory Care, including safe administration of prescribed therapies.
- Clinical experience and competency in Cardiopulmonary assessment and monitoring, including interpreting vital signs and related diagnostic data.
- Familiarity with Medicine fundamentals relevant to respiratory conditions, including common diagnoses, treatment options, and pharmacologic considerations.
- Experience or training in Neonatal Intensive Care or pediatric respiratory support is beneficial, particularly for roles involving pediatric services.
- Current state license or certification as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) as required by Georgia regulations.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field from an accredited program.
- Strong communication and patient education skills, with the ability to work compassionately with diverse patient populations and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
