This employee oversees the day-to-day operations of the shipping warehouse, which includes staff, inventory, and equipment, as well as shipping and receiving.
- Coordinate and administer the daily activities of the warehouse and shipping clerks
- Manage the department in the absence of the Department Manager
- Monitor filling and shipping queues and staff them sufficiently to avoid backlogs
- Monitor inventory to ensure sufficient supplies are available
- Perform Shipping Clerk duties as needed
- Monitor the warehouse for compliance with safety guidelines
- Maintenance of warehouse and shipping area, including equipment
- Receive all shipments
- Documentation of packing slip or invoice
- Responsible for count of pieces being received
- Storage and rotation of inventory
