About the Role:


The Youth Services Advocate plays a critical role in supporting and empowering young individuals by providing guidance, resources, and advocacy to help them navigate challenges related to education, health, and social services. This position focuses on building trusting relationships with youth to understand their unique needs and circumstances, ensuring they have access to appropriate programs and opportunities. The advocate collaborates with community organizations, schools, and families to create a supportive network that promotes positive youth development and well-being. By actively listening and responding to the concerns of young people, the advocate helps to remove barriers and foster resilience. Ultimately, this role aims to enhance the quality of life for youth by promoting their rights, safety, and access to essential services across the United States.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field.

  • Experience working directly with youth populations in community, educational, or social service settings.

  • Strong understanding of youth development principles and challenges faced by diverse youth populations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with youth and collaborate with stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and maintain detailed documentation in compliance with confidentiality standards.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related discipline.

  • Certification or training in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, or youth advocacy.

  • Experience working with marginalized or at-risk youth populations, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal resources and policies related to youth services.

  • Proficiency in a second language commonly spoken by the community served.


Responsibilities:



  • Engage directly with youth to assess their needs and provide personalized support and advocacy.

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, schools, and service providers to coordinate resources and referrals.

  • Educate youth and their families about available programs, rights, and services to empower informed decision-making.

  • Advocate on behalf of youth in various settings, including schools, social service agencies, and legal environments, to ensure their voices are heard and needs met.

  • Maintain accurate records of interactions, case progress, and outcomes to monitor effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.

  • Organize and facilitate workshops, support groups, and outreach events aimed at youth development and awareness.

  • Stay informed about relevant policies, legislation, and best practices affecting youth services to provide up-to-date guidance.

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for assessing individual youth needs and developing tailored support plans. Organizational skills enable the advocate to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining accurate and confidential records. Collaboration skills are vital for building and sustaining partnerships with various stakeholders to coordinate comprehensive services. Additionally, cultural competency and adaptability are employed to respectfully serve diverse youth populations and respond to evolving community needs.

Salary : $48,000
