Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor
Starting Salary: $65,000
Job Summary
Reporting to the MP & L Manager, the Shipping Supervisor will coordinate the activities of the Shipping Department including preparation and shipment of finished products to customers. Ensures shipments meet delivery requirements.
Responsibilities
- Record incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.
- Inspect labels, barcodes and other features of completed order.
- Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Prepare bills of lading, shipping labels.
- Inspect incoming metal and verify that it meets specifications.
- Create shipping schedule for customers and suppliers.
- Collaborate with various members of management team to ensure timely delivery of products or delivery of cores and metal.
- Conduct daily cycle counts and send out daily ship list and short list.
- Perform customer return processing.
- Perform activities to support month end inventory.
- Resolve shipping issues with customers or freight carriers.
- Create cost reduction recommendations and continuous improvement plans applicable to material flow and handling in shipping and receiving.
- Ensure compliance to legal regulations and company policies.
- Ensure team members are fulling trained and able to fill in for any member.
- Follow all safety and environmental guidelines in the plant.
- Approve team member timecards in Plex.
- 5S work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 3 years’ shipping and receiving experience within manufacturing environment, automotive industry preferred.
- Strong understanding of inventory management processes and systems, as well products and production processes.
- Experience with Excel, Plex and other software.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with people.
- Strict attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of business problems.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and deal with stressful situations.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule and overtime based on customer needs.
- Must be able to receive and maintain a mobile equipment license.
