Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, classrooms, and common areas using commercial cleaning products.
- Handle chemical agents safely while applying cleaning solutions for sanitation and disinfecting surfaces
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks following safe lifting practices to move supplies, or equipment as needed
- Maintain cleanliness with dusting of corners, ceilings lights, and fixtures to uphold facility appearance standards
- Follow safety protocols during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with safety procedures
- Assist with custodial responsibilities including trash removal, restocking supplies, and minor maintenance tasks
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting repairs or hazards that require further attention
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning techniques
- Skilled in handling chemical agents safely and understanding chemical handling safety procedures
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and scrubbers
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while adhering to safe lifting practices
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed
- Experience in custodial work, facilities maintenance, or porter roles is highly desirable
