Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding specifications and procedures
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), sheet metal, ductwork, custom fabrication, and other metal components
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and machining equipment to prepare materials for welding and fabrication
- Measure materials accurately with tape measures, squares, and basic math skills to ensure precise cuts and fits
- Operate rigging equipment such as cranes and forklifts for lifting, positioning, and assembling heavy steel structures safely
- Follow ASME codes & standards to maintain quality control during fabrication and welding processes
- Assist in pipe threading, soldering, mechanical assembly, and the use of schematics for complex projects
Requirements
- Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety protocols on large-scale projects
- Expertise in MIG and FCAW welding techniques; certification in these methods is preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with fabrication tools including plasma cutters, press brake machines, hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment
- Experience working with ASME codes & standards for structural welding projects
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and adjustments
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions precisely
