Duties
- Coordinate funeral services from initial consultation through final disposition, ensuring all arrangements meet families’ wishes and legal requirements
- Provide bereavement support to families, offering empathetic guidance during difficult times
- Manage the preparation of the deceased, including cosmetology, sanitation, and dissection procedures when necessary
- Oversee heavy lifting and manual handling of caskets, equipment, and supplies with safety and professionalism
- Organize and plan funeral events, including logistics, transportation, and coordination with vendors or clergy
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to anatomy knowledge, sanitation standards, and dissection procedures
- Conduct sales activities by explaining service options and assisting families in selecting appropriate arrangements while maintaining excellent customer service standards
Experience
- Valid licensure as a Funeral Director with proven experience in funeral directing or related roles
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and dissection techniques essential for proper body preparation
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate bereavement support and handle sensitive situations with professionalism
- Experience in event planning, organizational skills, and managing multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
- Familiarity with sanitation protocols, cosmetology practices for body preparation, and heavy lifting safety procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse families
- Prior sales experience is a plus to assist families in making informed decisions about funeral services
