What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - 3 North position at Lima Memorial Health System?
Functioning within the Health System’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients on his/her shift. RN responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care using age specific criteria. Judgments are made based upon scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN also assists in planning, directing and teaching non-RN staff such as LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries. Must demonstrate flexibility with work schedule changes and be “on call” per department requirements. On-call response time within one hour required.
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must complete and pass Basic Cardiac Dysrhythmia class and NIHSS within 6 months of hire date. Intermediate Cardiac Dysrhythmia Class required within 1 year of hire.
Licensure/Certification: Must have a valid unrestricted RN license for the State of Ohio. Current BLS required. ACLS required or to be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
Experience: One to three years’ experience specific to physician office practice or Health System preferred. Telemetry experience 1-2 years preferred.
Skills: Must have excellent “customer service” skills, including the ability to exhibit patience and tact with all constituents including physicians, patients and associates. Be cooperative and collaborative and have the ability to work efficiently while in stressful situations. Must have basic computer skills and EMR (electronic medical records) experience.
